Week 17 and 18, Safe Space and Be Brave

Well… life got in the way last week.
Studio deadlines, project launches, community art, giant dogs, giant dragons, the usual. So instead of forcing a blog update for the sake of keeping up, I gave myself a little grace and picked things back up this week.
And honestly, the next two panels feel like exactly the right ones to return with.
Safe Space is outward facing. It’s an intentional signal to others. A reminder that kindness is not passive, it’s something we actively create. Through the spaces we hold, the words we choose, and the way we make people feel.
Be Brave points the spotlight back at me.
Because creating safe spaces, standing by your values, speaking up when something matters, and sticking to your guns when not everyone agrees, that takes courage.
Away from the Kindness Cardi, it’s been a brilliantly busy couple of weeks. My giant purple dragon for the Making Trails Burton’s Bollards project is really starting to take shape, and I’ve been sharing little glimpses as it grows from a pile of yarn into something properly magical. www.makingtrails.co.uk/burtonsbollards
I’ve also finished Penny’s knitted cardigan, which has been a lovely little milestone. Seeing it complete has given me a real sense of what the finished Kindness Cardi might one day look like… just in grown up proportions.
Missed weeks or not, the stitches keep adding up. And that feels like a lesson in itself.
