Weeks 23, 24 & 25 Face It Together, Woman Up, Eat The Rich

Three weeks behind? Apparently my knitting needles didn't get the memo.

The last few weeks have brought three new panels to the Kindness Cardi. "Face It Together", "Woman Up", and "Eat The Rich". Quite the trio. Support, resilience, and just a tiny bit of mischief.

The funny thing about a project like this is that progress doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like making lots of little triangles.

I've also been working on more joining triangles, this time the ones needed for the bottom edge of the back panel. The previous triangles were for the sides. Yes, there are two different versions. Yes, this is as confusing as it sounds. Whoever designed this pattern clearly enjoys keeping knitters on their toes. Oh wait, that's me!

With the summer holibobs approaching, I'm hoping to start stitching everything together. After months of individual squares and triangles scattered around the house, it'll be lovely to finally see larger sections taking shape.

There's something satisfying about that stage. All the little pieces that seemed unrelated suddenly start making sense when they're joined together. Which, now I think about it, is probably true of people too.

Maybe that's what these latest panels have in common.

Face It Together. With recent local news of far right politicians taking issue with Pride Month library displays, this one feels like an important reminder that we achieve more when we stand together, and that sometimes it's important to make a fuss.

Woman Up, because the phrase "Man Up" has had its day.

And Eat The Rich? I did wonder whether including this one was actually kind. But let's face it, the billions of us ordinary folk aren't always treated kindly by the handful of billionaires and trillionaires, and I know which side I want to be on.

I certainly enjoyed stitching these.

Slowly, stitch by stitch, it's all coming together.
