Weeks 30, 31 & 32: Resist, This Girl Can & Butterflies

Three weeks in one this time, because things have been BUSY!

A rather large chunk of my time lately has been taken up with the launch of Burton’s Bollards, a wonderfully bonkers community project which saw 20 knitted, crocheted and crafted covers pop up across Burton upon Trent on Saturday.

The launch was brilliant. The town was buzzing, people were out exploring and the reaction has been absolutely wonderful.

There was, however, one slight hiccup…

Norbert, our enormous purple dragon, was stolen before we’d even officially launched!

The public outrage was immense, and I’ve spent a fair bit of time since trying to steer the conversation towards humour and grace rather than anger and hatred. Because, actually, that feels rather fitting for Kindness Cardi too. We can be disappointed by someone’s actions without letting them dictate our own.

So, amongst all the bollard madness, three more panels have quietly joined the Cardi.

Resist.

This Girl Can.

And Butterflies, a lovely little symbol of change, renewal and becoming something new.

I’m rather looking forward to getting properly stuck back into the Kindness Cardi now the bollards are out in the wild.

Although perhaps I should attach the Cardi to something very, very securely…
