This weekend I took a little breather. We were away on the boat with the family – a much-needed mini getaway after a long and pretty intense stretch of work.

This was after a lovely session of knitting in a local cafe. I usually frequent a good independent coffee shop but the masses were out in force in my local town so I ended up in Costa. Not my fave coffee, but I didn’t have the heart to mention this when Costa Coffee commented on my socials! Hahahah (whoops!)

But I’ll be honest, I didn’t totally switch off whilst on the water. I’ve been following the news closely and it’s left me feeling uneasy, heavy, and more aware than ever of what’s happening in the world around us.

So these panels come from that headspace.

Dove of Peace - It feels like such a poignant symbol right now. A quiet reminder of hope, calm and the possibility of something better, even when everything feels loud and chaotic.

Art Matters - This is something I believe in deeply. Art isn’t just decoration. It has real power – for our mental health, for self expression, for protest, for connection. Art can challenge, comfort and change things. It matters. Always.

Heart - A simple, beautiful symbol of love. Sometimes we don’t need to overcomplicate it. Just love. This one is also a great starting point if you’re new to colourwork. The pattern is relatively easy, so it’s perfect if you’re dipping your toes in for the first time.

As always, these panels are an invitation. To slow down. To make something with your hands. Knitting can be incredibly meditative – I certainly find it that way – a quiet moment in a busy world where your mind can settle and your thoughts can breathe. To stitch in your own feelings, reflections and hopes. I’d love to see what you create.
